Stucco

Not as sexy and exciting as a new kitchen, but this looks wonderful. Kieran from Kinsale stuccoed the kitchen addition (first coat), the area inside the portico, and repaired broken/cracked existing stucco. He comes back next week for the final coat.

See that stucco on the second floor? To the right of the window? That USED to be a window. We had to move it, or else it would have been in the shower.

Stucco in the portico. We're keeping the door, but will refinish and paint.

Inside Doors, Kitchen Counter Tops

Tomorrow the stucco guy comes. Kieran from Kinsale, Ireland. He is going to stucco the kitchen addition and repair the broken stucco on the side of the house. Then we can wash and paint.

Steve is tiling like mad (not quite fast enough but he has a day job). Our electrician went on a 2 week vacation to Disney World. (Two weeks??? Yikes.) Worse, he left us in the lurch. Our HVAC guy has been MIA for days. We need him to install the controls for the A/C, reinstall the radiators, and, after the kitchen counter tops are in, the kitchen appliances. It's complicated.

We did pull out some doors (which were stored in the garage), cleaned them up and installed them.

I had forgotten how gorgeous these doors are. We measured all the openings and matched the doors to the doorways. Each one was gross; they had to be scrubbed. They are solid! If anyone knows what kind of wood this is,please let me know.

Steve pulling out the doors. Someone has to take the photos.

Gorgeous, but dirty.

Connor is very happy to have a door.

Lots of measuring

Craig tells them what's what. Square corners. These guys will have nightmares for years.

Saturday Afternoon

Steve tiled. I washed windows and scraped plaster off stairs. Then I sat on the portico and read. I LOVE it here. Then the skunk came. I did not get a photo of him/her.

Ovens installed and working!

Refrigerator, not installed, but plugged in

Crown molding

Panels on island. Gorgeous.

Took these windows out to clean, so I could also do the outside.

Here they are. How gross are they??

After, cleaned and reinstalled.

The Appliances are Here! The Appliances are Here!

Cabinets were installed in master bath. Trim work completed on front portico. Trim work continues on kitchen cabinets. The electrician arrives tomorrow (he says) to install controls so we have access to installed air conditioning and hot water. I have been heating water in an electric teapot. I am going to a laundromat tomorrow. I am actually good with all of this, which kinda surprises me, because I enjoy complaining so much.

Installing air conditioning. They had to drill through stucco.

You will never again see only three bottles of wine here.

Steve's spectacular tiling job in guest bath. Currently known as our bath.

Master bath cabinets. Double sinks to the left, storage tower to the right. LOVE.

The guys installing trim. Look at those gorgeous panels for the island. Again, thank you, Craig

Cook Top Hood. Other Kitchen Stuff

Brad and Justin couldn't wait to see how the exhaust hood would look so they set it in place.

It will go on top of the granite.

They are so careful and precise. LOVE them.

Can you even believe how gorgeous this is? Thank you Craig.

Another view. Cooktop underneath.

Lovely

Lots of Kitchen Activity

No plumber, no electrician today. Tomorrow? I may be headed out to Acton for a shower if neither appears.

BUT great activity in the kitchen cabinet installation. I realized at the end of the day that I should have taken more photos: Steve is installing all the tile and he and Craig went over the patterns and designs. Lots and lots of tile.

We LOVE Adam's crew. Brad, Justin and Joe are wonderful to work with: meticulous, knowledgeable, and fun.

Kitchen bar. Mud room to the right.

Island. Sink to the left, dishwasher to the right

I have no idea what he is doing, but he is a fabulous designer.

Mud room. Look at those cabinets!

These are doors from a hutch in the original dining room. We're putting them on the cabinets in the bar. Gorgeous.

Round pull on the right: white cabinets

Island cabinets and drawers. LOVE.
